Project Overview
The project focused on advancing sustainable organic waste management in Egypt and Jordan by reducing landfill dependency and assessing environmentally sound treatment alternatives. The initiative addressed climate protection through improved management of biodegradable waste and supported alignment with national and international environmental objectives.
Our Role
- Served as the Egyptian Partner in collaboration with the University of Rostock, Germany, and Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST).
- Reviewed and assessed existing organic waste management systems in Egypt and Jordan.
- Evaluated potential treatment technologies, including composting and anaerobic digestion.
- Developed strategic guidelines and recommendations for sustainable organic waste management.
- Organized technical workshops, stakeholder meetings, and bilateral knowledge-exchange sessions.
- Prepared technical reports and policy briefs based on research findings and field analysis.
