Development of an integrated Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility for Mostakbal City through feasibility assessment, detailed engineering design, financial planning, and construction supervision.

Project Overview

The project involves the development of an integrated MBT facility serving Mostakbal City, a fourth-generation city covering approximately 11,000 acres with an eventual population of 1.1 million. The facility follows a modular and phased development approach to align treatment capacity with city occupancy and ensure financial sustainability.

Our Role

  • Served as Lead Consultant for engineering, environmental, and financial aspects of the project.
  • Developed a dynamic waste generation model aligned with city occupancy rates.
  • Conducted demographic analysis and waste characterization covering residential, commercial, and institutional sources.
  • Performed technical and financial feasibility studies, including site selection and technology assessment.
  • Prepared conceptual, schematic, and detailed engineering designs for mechanical, electrical, and civil works.
  • Developed the financial model covering CAPEX, OPEX, and sensitivity analysis over a 15–20-year period.
  • Developed the procurement strategy and prepared tender documents for mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Provided construction supervision and operational testing support.
